Appearance
Value Display
A read-only numeric or text readout with a caption and unit.
In Studio
In Studio, double-click Value Display in the Components category of the Components panel. It is added to the open view, where you can drag it into place.
When to use
Use Value Display for a bound process value an operator only needs to read, not adjust. It is also what dragging a tag straight onto a screen creates for you.
Properties
| Property | Type | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| Value | String | (none) | The bound value to display. |
| Label | String | Value | The caption shown above the readout. |
| Unit | String | (none) | The unit text appended after the readout, e.g. °F, psi. |
| Format | String | (none) | An optional Python-style format string applied to the value before display. |
| Caption | top, left, none | top | Where the caption goes: top (default, above the readout), left (beside it) or none (hidden). |
| Unit | inline, below | inline | Where the unit goes: inline (default, after the value) or below (on its own line under it). |
Binding
Click Bind… on the Value property and bind it to a tag or an expression to drive the live value.
This binding is read-only — the component never writes to the tag.
