Appearance
Multistate Label
A colored chip that shows one of a fixed list of named states, selected by a numeric value.
In Studio
Not available from the Components panel in this version. A view that already contains one displays it normally, in Studio and in Spectrum.
When to use
Use Multistate Label for a value with more than two named states — a mode selector reading 0/1/2/3 — where Status Indicator's on/off pair is not enough and a full smart-object symbol is not appropriate.
Properties
| Property | Type | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| Value | String | (none) | The bound numeric value. It is rounded to the nearest whole number and clamped into range to pick an index into State Labels/State Colors. |
| Label | String | State | The caption shown above the chip. |
| State Labels (comma-sep) | String | Stopped,Running,Fault | Comma-separated state names, index-aligned with the value (e.g. Stopped,Running,Fault — value 0 shows "Stopped", 1 shows "Running", 2 shows "Fault"). |
| State Colors (comma-sep) | String | #808080,#FFFFFF,#E12D39 | Comma-separated colors, index-aligned with State Labels. Defaults to the HMI palette's stopped/running/priority-1-alarm colors for a 3-state Stopped/Running/Fault reading. |
Binding
Click Bind… on the Value property and bind it to a tag or an expression to drive the live value.
This binding is read-only — the component never writes to the tag.
With no live data, the chip shows "—" rather than defaulting to state 0 — an unknown value never displays as if it were a real reading.
